Delivering Construction Training and Safety Standards throughout the North East of Scotland
The Grampian group is one of the longest running groups in Scotland; the group was formed in 1998 from the amalgamation of the Grampian Association of Civil Engineering Contractors and the Grampian Builders Training Group.
In January 2013, the group became independent and changed its status to Company Limited by Guarantee, a not for profit organisation supported by funding from CITB. At this time the group appointed a dedicated Group Training Officer to facilitate training on behalf of member companies.
Grampian Construction Training Limited (GCT) is a forum which is committed to training and works closely with industry to identify individual training needs and produce bespoke training programmes. The group is committed to joining forces to make training viable and working in partnership with colleges, universities and training providers to develop future training and promoting new training initiatives for the industry.
The training group actively participate and train in the following areas: Health & Safety, Sustainability and the Environment, Apprenticeships, Craft Trades & Operatives along with Management & Supervisory training. The group is always looking to increase the provision of courses in the local area and is committed every year to maintaining 1,000 or more training days. Members recognise the value of industry and education links and is keen to become more involved.
Group members are committed to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS), Construction Scaffolding Industry Record Scheme Scaffolding (CISRS) and other card schemes which help their workers stay qualified, competent and safe.
